// about me
Understand first.
Build with purpose.
I’m Akshay Alenchery, a full-stack engineer and the developer behind Akadev. I enjoy working through the technical challenges of an idea and building a product that people can depend on. My focus is on solid architecture, reliable systems, and software that works consistently in everyday use.
My interest in development started in 2011 after watching The Social Network. The story somehow inspired me to build something similar, even though I had no idea what went into a website or how to make one. I started learning the basics, and each thing I figured out made me curious about the next. That curiosity kept me building and experimenting and eventually led to launching a photo-sharing social network, earned a degree in Computer Science and Engineering, grew into a senior technical role, and began helping people build products inspired by their own ideas.
Since then, I’ve worked across web applications, iOS and Android apps, backend systems, and cloud infrastructure. I’m particularly interested in how the pieces fit together: how data moves through a system, how services communicate, and how an application handles things going wrong. My work has involved both writing the code and taking responsibility for getting the product into people’s hands.
Currently, I work at NightHack Labs, leading engineering teams of around 20 people across multiple projects. I help shape architecture and technical decisions while staying involved in implementation. Working across teams has taught me to think beyond an individual feature and consider how the whole product will run, evolve, and be maintained.
Through Akadev, I help founders and businesses build prototypes, focused MVPs, and web and mobile applications. I start by understanding the problem, the people using the product, and the workflows it needs to support. That gives us a basis for choosing a practical scope, making technical decisions, and reviewing working software together as it develops.
I want the products I build to work reliably, be easy to maintain, and grow with the people using them. That matters whether I’m starting from scratch or improving something that already exists.
